Life’s Purpose? I have stumbled on this question over the last few months! What is life’s purpose? Surely, working, paying bills, fulfilling life long desires cannot be the only purpose. There must be something more admirable and rewarding than the every day cycle. 

I started digging deeper to find, my life’s purpose is to serve humanity.  There is an overwhelming sense of feeling and excitement that warms the heart when you think about helping people, who unfortunately due to political violence, have endured losses and face a new normality. A normality which many of us take for granted and call “our basic right”. 

By the grace of the Almighty, I am honoured that I have been chosen to serve my purpose of life through a humanitarian project in Syria with Global Relief Trust.  

I will be travelling to Syria on 15th March 2024 and will be returning 19th March 2024. 

The project is transferring displaced Syrian families from tents into concrete houses. This will keep them cool in the summer and warm in the winter.  

Each house or apartment will be part of a village that we are currently constructing. We are providing all homes with a direct water source; private toilets and shower facilities, kitchen and green space.

All villages will have shops, mosques, school, communal area and children’s play area.

The work is expected to finish by the end of July and all families moved into their new homes during August 2024.

All homes will be legally owned by the beneficiaries with paper deeds signed over to them and keys given.
